As revealed by the government data, positive cases of Coronavirus in Canada has risen to 138. And the wife of Canada’s Prime Minister, Sophie Gregoire has tested positive for Coronavirus.
It began when she returned from a speaking engagement in London, but started experiencing mild flu-like symptoms with low fever on Wednesday.
This disease is transmissible via body contact, and though Trudeau is not showing any of the possible symptoms of the virus and is considered healthy according to the post made on twitter by his communications director, he will be in isolation for 14 days. But he will not be tested for the virus since he shows no symptoms.
Sophie Gregoire would also be in isolation, but she is feeling well. And the Prime Minister’s communications director’s tweet revealed that her symptoms remain mild. This should give her a chance of quick recovery as the World Health Organization statistics say that people with mild symptoms recovered within two weeks while those with serious symptoms recovered within three to six weeks.
“Following medical advice, she will remain in isolation for the time being. She is feeling well, is taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild,” tweeted Cameron Ahmad, the prime minister’s communications director.
Health professionals are making moves to ensure that those who had direct contact with Sophie Gregoire are not with the disease and will meet some people which she came in close contact with.
“As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days,” the statement added. “Also on the advice of doctors, he will not be tested at this stage since he has no symptoms.” The Prime Minister’s communication director also said that Trudeau will address Canadians on Friday.
Gregoire Trudeau appreciated the concerns of people in a statement that Cameron Ahmad posted on Twitter. Letting people in on her present health condition, She said that she is experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus but will be back on her feet soon.
